How To Clean Your Favorite Indoor Grill

Guide: Cleaning Your Indoor Grill

After enjoying a perfect BBQ meal with your indoor grill, cleaning up seems pretty annoying task. Cleaning an indoor grill seems pretty hard for all the sticky grease and oil. While cooking, a lot of fat and oil come out from the meat. They get to stick to the grill plates after they get cold. So it becomes a hard task to clean all the dirt. Make sure that the indoor grill you are buying contains nonstick and removable trays. The plates must be dishwasher safe so that your cleaning up becomes easier.

There are mainly two types of indoor grills.

  1. Contact Grills
  2. Open Grills

You can clean these two types of indoor grills by following some easy steps. If the plates are removable, then the task is pretty easy. In comparison with open grills, contact grills are harder to clean. So you may have to take special care while cleaning your contact grill.

A grill usually consists of 3-4 grill/griddle plates and a drip tray where all the grease and fats from your meat will be stored. All these plates are usually nonstick so that it is easier for you to use and clean. Follow these steps to clean your contact grill easily:

  • After cooking unplug your contact grill. It is a very important step. Don’t forget to unplug after you get your meal perfectly cooked. Don’t let your cord in a touch of water. It might create an accident.
  • After unplugging your indoor grill, let it cool down for at least half an hour. Well, it is pretty normal. Because after cooking, you eat for at least 40-45 minutes with your family. So the second step is to cool down the grill for half an hour.
  • Then take a wet towel or if you don’t want it too wet, then take a wet paper towel. Lay down the towel on the grill plate. It will help you to remove the food particles and oil easily.
  • Lay the paper towel and let it be like this for about 15 minutes. Then swipe the paper towel all over your indoor grill.
  • If things become too sticky and too oily, then take a wire brush and remove the particles carefully with it.
  • At last, take another clean paper towel by which you can again swipe the whole thing.
  • If you have a dishwasher, then your work becomes easier. You just have to remove the plates from your grill and put them in your dishwasher. But it doesn’t work for the grill plates that are not removable.

By following these steps regularly after cooking with your grill will always keep your indoor grill neat and clean. Don’t let the grill stay uncleaned for a whole day. It will make works so much harder for you. The oil and grease will don’t want to come off easily. So clean your indoor grill regularly. It is indeed not a very hard work to do.
